SOZO MINISTRY
“Tools for ministry and for life”
WHAT IS SOZO?
SOZO is a ministry that seeks to restore individuals to a more intimate relationship with God and to a more fulfilled and fruitful life.
The term "sozo" is a Greek word that is translated “to save, heal, and deliver” (Mk. 10:52; Lk. 8:36; 19:10; Ro. 5:10; 10:9).
Luke 19:10 states: For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save (sozo) that which was lost.
In Mark 10:52, Jesus said, “Go, your faith has healed (sozo) you.”
SOZO Ministry is an inner healing and deliverance prayer ministry that partners with Father God to bring truth and freedom to His children.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF SOZO?
The primary purpose of SOZO is to bring freedom and healing into our lives. Out of a restored relationship with Father God, our identity and destiny are re-established answering the two basic questions in life: "Who am I?" and "Where am I going?"
Jesus is the author and perfecter of the manuscripts of our lives. His intention is to write a bestseller, even a blockbuster. We just participate in what He is doing. We don't deliver anyone. They are already delivered. We just help them to shift their gaze to Father God's face and His promises and to apply His grace and truth to the places of wounding, deception, and bondage (John 1:14-18).
God is after absolute freedom. He desires us to know the truth because it will set us free. God uses SOZO Ministry in a powerful way to remove the deception, sin, and resulting emotional pain that keep us from realizing the abundant life that Jesus died for us to have.
WHAT IS A SOZO SESSION?
A two or three person team will minister to you in a gentle, friendly, confidential, and relaxed atmosphere for approximately two hours. A SOZO Session is not professional counseling. Rather, the Grace Center SOZO Ministry Team are Christian lay ministers well trained in inner healing and deliverance prayer.
A SOZO Session is designed to help you remove roadblocks and hindrances to your spiritual growth, relationships, and intimacy with God. Every SOZO is different because in each session the SOZO Team relies on the leading of the Holy Spirit. A SOZO Session typically has these elements:
1) an interview process to discuss your current struggles;
2) a prayerful search to find the root of your emotional pain and to remove it;
3) prayers to receive God’s truth and will for your life; and
4) blessing and encouragement in what God intended for you.
WHAT IF I WANT A SOZO SESSION?
For a person to gain freedom, he or she needs to be totally honest, willing, and desperate to be free. If you have decided that you want this freedom and want to be scheduled for a SOZO Session, please submit the online application form (see below).
There is no charge for a regular SOZO Session, however, an opportunity to give an offering will be made before the session.
Applicants are seen on a first come, first served basis. Please be aware that due to the number of applications, there could be a three month wait before you are contacted for your session. We trust God that His timing is perfect.
WHAT ARE FREEDOM WORKSHOPS?
Freedom Workshops utilize SOZO tools in a group setting to help you gain more freedom, enhancing your relationships with both God and others.
Four different Freedom Workshops are held each year on Saturday mornings at Grace Center. Each workshop is designed to target a certain area for freedom. Attending all four Freedom Workshops would serve as a spiritual “spring cleaning.”
Everyone can benefit from Freedom Workshops including those waiting for a SOZO; those wanting to try SOZO Ministry in the anonymity of a group setting; and, generally, everyone wanting breakthrough in their lives.
Watch for announcements about upcoming workshops on the Grace Center website and in the Sunday bulletin. Attendance is free of charge. Opportunity to give an offering to the ministry will be provided. Childcare is not available.
Come join us and experience healing and freedom.
WHAT IS SOZO TRAINING?
Everyone can benefit from SOZO Training—to use in ministry settings or in everyday life situations. SOZO Training will equip you to walk and minister in the freedom God intended for you. Not only will you learn SOZO concepts and tools, sessions will include hands-on practice. Sozo Basic and Advanced Training Seminars are offered periodically at Grace Center and other churches by the Grace Center SOZO Ministry Team.
